Langer in the Community

Langer Primary Academy really values its close ties within the community of Felixstowe.

In January 2023, we were closely involved with the re-structure of Langer Parks climbing frame. Graeme Mitcheson came into school, and the children created all sorts of wonderful things using clay.

We regularly visit Coniston House and Cotman House to sing and read with the residents.

In March 2023 we were contacted by a lovely gentleman called Nick. Nick worked with the coastguard, and informed us that they were having a very special royal visit from HRH Princess Royal, and would we like to wave her off to her next destination when she was finished at Martello Tower. Of course we said yes! The children waited patiently outside in the rain for Princess Royal to drive past. They slowed the car right down and the children got to wave and see her.

We were fortunate enough to take part in activities surrounding the 2023 Tour of Britain. Our Executive Head teacher, Mrs Kittle, took 4 children children to the events arena, where the children were able to meet the Britain team and join them on the podium before the race began. Later in the day, the race concluded in Felixstowe and our pupils were lucky enough to see the cyclists ride past the school, whilst we waved and cheered them on. This was a truly amazing opportunity for all of our children and we felt very luck to be able to be a part of it.

We hold a stay and weigh baby group every other Tuesday from 09:30-11. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet with a health professional, have the chance to weigh your little one, and meet other parents, all whilst having a hot drink and a biscuit.

The Mayor of Felixstowe is also a huge advocate of our school. He regularly attends events here at school and we were recently invited to sing at the Mayors Christmas Carol Service.
