Behaviour
At Langer, everyone can achieve.
We trust, we care, we aspire.
Our aim is for every child attending our school to be in control of their feelings and behaviour so that the entire school community can learn happily and safely. Our vision is that at Langer, everyone can achieve. Our core values are therefore trust, care, aspire and achieve. Our core values are key to the success of our school and to our behaviour management system and we will discuss challenges, and offer praise, in terms of the core values of trust, care, aspire and achieve. We directly teach our pupils what these values mean and how they will help them at school and beyond.
We want all our pupils to be able to make great decisions for themselves even in difficult situations. This means that we have to directly teach them how to behave and conduct themselves in the school environment. We have to teach all our children to self-regulate – this involves naming feelings, communicating feelings, responding to conflict calmly, taking turns and enjoy being part of a community of learners.
Relationships between children and adults at our school are key to every child being successful. Our staff are all trained on behaviour, communication and the principals of behavioural science so that they can make productive, predictable and safe working relationships with our pupils.
Further details of our expectations, rewards and sanctions can be found in the attached Behaviour Policy.
